Effortless Street Style

The weather in New York can be unpredictable even during springtime, it could be warm  during the day and turn chilly within just a couple of hours. This look is great for transitioning from winter to spring and it also works for fall as you can play around with the different layers and textures. The neutral colors are universally flattering for anyone and blends into the spring and fall/winter palettes.

When I have to run around the city a lot to cover and photograph multiple events all day, I like to be comfortable and channel an effortless look. Sure, I wish I could look like Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, but I don’t want to ruin fancy shoes on the streets or have my skirt trodden on when I’m taking pictures on the crowded risers. Living in New York has definitely influenced my style to be more edgy and practical.

Here I’ve layered a soft, mauve-grey sweater with a fawn-colored fur vest and a tan brown jacket. To complete the outfit, I paired it with dark blue skinny jeans and dark brown heeled boots. I like to keep my accessories simple too, with just a lariat necklace and aviator sunglasses.

I’d like to thank Joie for the luxuriantly soft “Andoni” fur vest and Kendra Scott for the elegant tasseled necklace. They are very chic and versatile accessories for everyone! Photo credits belong to New York City Fashion Photography by Andrew Reid.
